Rawnaq and her new smile

Sudanese nine-month-old Rawnaq Abdel Razek Ali was a beneficiary of KSrelief’s volunteer medical program for oral and maxillofacial surgery, which was implemented in Sudan in August 2021.

Rawnaq was born with a cleft lip and a cleft palate. Thanks to this program, doctors were happy to inform her parents that surgery could correct her condition. During the operation, they prayed that God would grant their daughter a positive outcome.

Thankfully, Rawnaq’s surgery was a complete success, and her parents were indescribably happy. Soon afterwards, she was smiling and playing with her parents, an expression of pure joy on her face, as though she realized, even at such a young age, that this operation had profoundly changed her life for the better.
